
Dr. Kimberly Hayes, PsyD (they/them), believes that each individual is an expert on themselves, and that their role as a provider is to help each client meet their goals, facilitate change, and develop tools that clients can continue to use long after therapy has ended.
Dr. Hayes is passionate about serving LGBTQ2S+, military personnel, veterans, rural communities, and clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma-based symptoms, chronic pain, hoarding, anger/irritability, substance use concerns, and relationship concerns. Dr. Hayes is also interested in providing group therapy, including anger management, substance use, chronic pain, and resiliency for LGBTQ2S+ community members.
Dr. Hayes graduated from Georgia Southern University and is a licensed psychologist in South Dakota and Wyoming. Dr. Hayes worked in a variety of settings, including rural community-based clinics, a United States Army hospital, a forensics inpatient hospital, and Veterans Affairs (VA). Dr. Hayes moved to South Dakota for an internship with VA, and worked at VA full time for 3 years. Dr. Hayes has experience providing evidence-based therapies to treat PTSD and trauma-based symptoms, substance use disorders, anger/irritability, depression, anxiety, hoarding disorder, chronic pain, and other presenting concerns, and is experienced in evidence-based couples therapy.
During Dr. Hayes’ time at VA, Dr. Hayes served as an LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator for their facility. Dr. Hayes has experience in providing the evaluations and letters of recommendation for hormone therapy and gender affirming surgery. Dr. Hayes also co-facilitated a LGBTQ2S+ resiliency group, and worked with LGBTQ2S+ clients individually to help build resilience in the face of discrimination. Dr. Hayes is passionate about working with adults, and provides individual therapy, couples therapy, and neuropsychological evaluations for adults.
