Dr. Jason K. Mitchell, PsyD, ABPP, Licensed Psychologist

Dr. Mitchell is a board certified clinical psychologist, licensed in South Dakota and Washington State. He has extensive experience helping individuals navigate the complexities of life through evidence-based therapeutic practices. With a unique background that includes 12 years of military service. Dr. Mitchell understands the challenges of trauma, resilience, and personal growth from a perspective shaped by both clinical training and firsthand experience in high-pressure environments.

Having served in the United States Air Force, Dr. Mitchell gained valuable insights into the psychological demands faced by service members, veterans, and their families. This experience informs a deep commitment to providing compassionate, culturally sensitive, and effective care to individuals from all walks of life, particularly those impacted by
trauma.

Dr. Mitchell’s clinical approach incorporates a range of therapeutic modalities designed to meet the unique needs of each individual. Specializing in trauma and cognitive processing therapy (CPT), Dr. Mitchell helps clients process past experiences and develop healthier coping mechanisms. Drawing on principles from dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and substance abuse counseling, Dr. Mitchell guides clients toward emotional regulation, acceptance, and long-term positive change.

With a passion for working with clients from the adolescent years through adulthood, Dr. Mitchell provides psychotherapy to individuals ages 12 and up. Dr. Mitchell also offers comprehensive psychological assessments for all ages, addressing a wide range of concerns, from learning difficulties, to memory deficits, and other mental health evaluations.

In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Mitchell specializes in couples therapy, helping partners navigate communication challenges, emotional disconnection, and conflict resolution. Whether working with individuals or couples, Dr. Mitchell fosters a warm, supportive environment in which clients can explore their concerns and build healthier relationships with themselves and others.
