Dawn supports individuals on their journey towards healing, meaning, and fulfillment. She believes every person’s story deserves to be heard and honored. Dawn partners with clients to help them rediscover their strengths, voice, and self-worth.
Dawn earned her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology and sociology at Iowa State University and her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South Dakota State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) in the state of South Dakota, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with the National Board for Certified Counselors, and a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
Throughout her career, Dawn has supported adults of all ages and backgrounds in both residential and outpatient settings. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, recovery, life transitions, relationship issues, work challenges, and career development. Drawing from a range of evidence-based approaches including DBT, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and psychoeducation, she helps clients discover new possibilities and develop practical tools for lasting change.
Dawn believes mental health stressors do not define who you are. She takes an open-minded and whole-person approach to therapy, considering each client’s life within the broader context of family, culture, and society. Helping people reconnect with their inner voice and resources brings her great joy.
Outside of work, Dawn enjoys spending time with family, hiking and playing volleyball with friends, cheering on her favorite sports teams, traveling to new places, and attending live concerts.
