With over 20 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Mental Health, Ms. Peggy Heuston is a knowledgeable and seasoned counselor who is ready to provide compassionate support and guidance.

She works with all types of individuals treating a wide variety of mental health issues.  Ms. Heuston’s strengths are working with children and families. She is knowledgeable in dealing with depression, anxiety, suicide prevention, childhood behavioral concerns, anger regulation and trauma. She also works with decreasing stress, women’s issues, LGBTQ+ and coping with employment concerns.  Ms. Heuston has experience with engaging in therapy with individuals with cognitive impairment.

She utilizes techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing She works with a variety of techniques to assist individuals in accomplishing their personal goals. Ms. Heuston works with individual, couples and groups.

Peggy has a Masters of Science in Educational Counseling and Guidance from Northern State University in 1993. She is a Qualified Mental Health Professional and holds her LPC- MH in both South Dakota and Texas.   Ms. Heuston’s first professional career was in public education and that has helped her become a well-rounded therapist. She has a Specialist Degree in Education and Administration from the University of South Dakota and a Bachelor’s of Science from Huron University.

Ms. Heuston believes that all people have the power to change what they don’t like about their situation or lives with motivation and the right support system.  She can help you learn new tools to help you cope more effectively with the many stresses of life. Everyone can use a good therapist sometime in their life.  Peggy can accept most insurances and Medicaid.
