She has a Masters in Social Work and holds a Clinical Social Worker—Private Independent Practice (CSW-PIP) License in South Dakota. Kay has 15 years of clinical social work practice, and is experienced working with both youth and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, and other emotional difficulties. She has helped individuals cope with work-related stress, relationship issues, and life transitions. Kay also has experience working with adults experiencing chronic health conditions and physical limitations.
Kay has worked with children with emotional needs as well as behavioral problems. She also helps youth find success in school, both socially and emotionally by working collaboratively with schools and parents. She understands the many challenges facing today’s young people as they strive to feel happy, secure, and worthwhile as they navigate their everyday life.
She has worked as an adoption social worker, assisting youth in foster care and their adoptive families transition through the adoption process. An adoptee herself, Kay has experience working with all members of the adoption triad—-birth parents, adoptive parents, and adoptees.
Kay’s therapy approach is to ensure that the goals being set are important and meaningful to the patient and family. Happiness matters, and finding a satisfying, fulfilling life is what she strives to help each patient achieve.
Kay enjoys spending time with her friends and family, soaking in the joys of rural life. She writes to feed her creativity, and loves spending time in the hills.
